This is a project that spanned the better part of a year. I built a model of a clock escapement out of Knex. I was never able to turn it into functioning clock because the correct gearing ratios are not available in Knex gears. I was able to get it to a point that it could run reliably for about 3 hours with a best time of almost 4.
